Ben will turn SEVEN YEARS OLD this Sunday, the 19th. SEVEN. I seriously can't believe how big he is. I can't believe it's been seven years since I was that scared and unprepared fourteen year old girl. It's seriously amazing how far we've come. He'll always be my baby, especially as my first (and arguably most tenderhearted) child. I look at him every day and am so proud of the child he's grown to be and I'm so proud of myself for defying all that was said I would never do.
We're having his party next weekend, on the 25th. It's mostly some kids from his class and from sunday school, and it's not too big. We're just having a small thing at a local park with cake, lots of fun games, pizza and they have a big playground, too. Trey and I are getting him a bike! It has removable training wheels and everything, so Trey and I get to teach him how to ride a bike. :) It's a little late, but that's okay! He's been begging us forever for a bike! I'm so excited to see his face! We also signed him up for soccer! He's been having practices and his first game is this weekend! I'm SO excited to see him play! He's never played before, and neither have many of the other kids, so they're all kind of just learning the rules. Watching little kids play soccer is absolutely adorable. He loves it so far though, even though he's only had a few practices.
In other news......!
Hunter will be 4 on March 6th! He's EXTREMELY stubborn and always wants to do everything himself, but he loves to help out his daddy with everything around the house and take care of his sisters. He's a great big brother! He always likes helping take care of Lucy! He also has really enjoyed animals... He's always so fascinated with them and is always protective of them if he sees them outside! That's one thing he's always very gentle about! I'm going to be registering him for real Pre-K soon (he's currently just in a daycare type of preschool), which he's so excited about! He's so excited to go to school like his big brother! When Hunter is in Kindergarten, Ben will be in 3rd grade, so they'll have 3 years together in elementary and a year of high school together. Ben is class of 2023, Hunter will graduate in 2026, Cora in 2028 and Lucy in 2030 (so weird to think about...). So Cora and Lucy and Hunter and Cora will go to school together a lot of the time.
Cora turns 2 on March 22nd! She's got a huge attitude (not always in a bad way) and she's a total girls girl! She's 22 months right now and she's always exploring everything! She loves to follow her big brothers around and immitate them (yay me...) so even though she's really girly she is NOT afraid to get dirty and play outside with the boys. Her potty training is going super well, even though we just started not too long ago and we're taking it fairly slow. She's extremely vocal and is always talking to everyone (and even herself sometiems, lol). She loves to help me with Lucy (she's in the mommy phase, especially because she has a little sister!) and also always wants to help with baking and cooking, even though she doesn't do much... She's into the whole playing house thing, haha.
Lucy is 6 weeks old! Her smiles have melted my heart since the first time I saw them! She's a REALLY good baby, unlike Hunter and Cora. She really reminds me a lot of Ben as a baby. Whenever she's fussy, if anyone sings to her she just completely calms down! It's seriously just like magic! Who knows, maybe she'll be a singer or a musician! She also makes the FUNNIEST faces. She's at that age where they just make weird faces at absolutely everything! It's like they're just discovering that they can do it, lol. Everyone is very adapted to her being here, which makes me really happy. It was a bit harder when Cora came, for some reason. Trey absolutely adores her, and he's always helping when he can which is a huge burden off my shoulders. After looking after 4 kids all day, it's a total relief for him to come home and help!
Also, we're still looking for a house! We got a realtor and she's been really helpful. We've looked at a few but none seem quite right just yet, so we're going to keep looking! I keep picturing everything I'll get to do in my own house! Paint, get new furniature, where I'll put the furniature I have, decorating, how to make it look really nice, etc. I'm just SO excited! Owning my own home was one of the things I really wanted growing up and now I'm about to get it!
