Update on life!

Well I totally forgot about this blog. But I'm going to try to keep it more updated now!

Ben is 6 now! He'll be 7 in February. He's in 1st grade and is a straight A student. He's extremely active and is always playing outside with other kids who live in our apartment complex. He's expressed interest in wanting to play a sport, so we're thinking about registering him for soccer at the Y this spring. I think it would be good for him to learn teamwork and all that stuff. He's got a huge imagination and is always drawing, building things out of whatever he can, and playing cops or cowboys or something like that... He's a great kid, and I'm so proud of him! Last time I was on here, him and Trey's relationship was still in it's beginning stages, but now they have a great relationship. Ben does call him "dad", even though he knows that Trey isn't his biological father. This age is probably my favorite. 6 year olds really have so much insight and innocence... The things that they say are just so amazing. A few weeks ago, a bird flew right into our front door and died. It was the weirdest thing, but me being extremely pregnant, I was just sobbing my eyes out. And he said "It's okay mommy, everything has to die sometime." and told me that the bird was with Jesus now. HOW FREAKING CUTE IS THAT?!

Hunter is 3, and he'll be 4 in March! His speech is about average for his age, and he comes up with pretty creative names for things... It's pretty funny! He makes up words all the time... He's much more rough and tumble than Ben is, Hunter is bit more adventurous while Ben is more tenderhearted and gentle. Hunter is in preschool, and he's doing really well! According to his teacher, he's extremely sociable and makes friends really easily. He's really interested in nature and how the world works in that way. He asks a lot of questions all the time. And he always makes a point of showing Cora how to do things... It's really cute!

Cora is 21 months, she'll be 2 in March! She has a HUGE attitude, but it's mostly just the 2 year old thing... She can be very sweet! Right now we're working on sharing/fairness/taking turns. She can walk up stairs but hasn't exactly gotten over the fear of walking down them, which turns into a big ole crying fest until someone comes to get her. And man, is she a daddy's girl! When daddy gets home, she just goes to him right away! She's pretty good at following directions, but sometimes her stubbornness gets in the way, and she won't do it simply because I told her to. But most of the time, her dad can give her a stern look and she'll reluctantly follow directions. ;) She can probably say about 50 words, but her favorites are "No", "Mine," and "Give!" Haha. Typical toddler!

And lastly, I am FORTY WEEKS AND THREE DAYS PREGNANT. :l UNFAIR! I am more than ready to have this baby out already! I'm a huge whale, and I can't sleep well at all anymore! I've been sleeping in a big chair in our family room simply because that's really the only comfortable place for me. I've been having lots of Braxton Hicks, and some very strong ones, but they are extremely irregular so it's obviously not real contractions. I have an appointment on the 4th to talk about induction of I haven't had the baby yet. My doctor will induce probably the 5th if I'm still pregnant. But I'm really hoping to go naturally and I'm hoping I won't have to get all drugged up with pitocin... We have a long list of names, but our top 5 is this: girls; Lucy Jean, Ava Josephine, Molly June, Layla Josephine and Charlotte Joslynn. boys; Oliver James, Samuel John, Callum James, Elias Joseph and Ethan James.

We're also looking for a house. Our apartment is a 2 story one, with 3 bedrooms, but it's just way too cramped for 6 people. The kitchen is TINY TINY TINY. Like, probably 6x4 or something. I bump into everything with my huge baby bump, and if more than one person is in there it's way too crowded. We've been conservative financially with what we spend, and Trey said that he thinks we're in a pretty good place to look for a house. The only thing is that we don't want to take Ben out of his school, so we have an extremely limited area to look in... If we do just have to move out of his school zone, we'll pick another elementary school that will join up with his middle school so that he'll still eventually be able to go to school with his friends and we won't be too far away if they still want to hang out. So hopefully all that will fall into place. We're going to look for a realtor, so hopefully we'll get the process going. We don't really want to move RIGHT after the baby is born, though, so we'll probably not actually move until at least February or March, or if we have to move out of Ben's school zone we'll wait for him to finish the year out.
